Born on 16th July, 1983, Katrina Kaif is one of the most famous actresses of current times in the Indian cinema. Originally hailing from the UK, Katrina entered the showbiz as a teenager when she bagged her first modeling assignment.
In her early life, Katrina traveled a lot as her mother was associated with social causes. Her father had split up with her mother when she was a child and as per reports, Katrina has claimed that her father never had an influence on her or her siblings as they were growing up. To this day, Katrina maintains she has no connection to her father and owes all her success to her mother.
Her Indian movie career started in 2003 with Boom, when filmmaker Kaizad Gustad spotted her in London and decided to cast her. The movie was a commercial failure but this opportunity opened up Katrina to the Indian industry where she received a lot of modeling assignments and established herself as a prominent name.
Though hesitant at first because of her language barriers, filmmakers started noting her work after she starred in a Telugu film in 2004 and this led to her first commercial success “Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya?”
Her Bollywood career is also affected by her relationship with Salman Khan, which earned her an entry into the mainstream cinema. Following her success in “Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya?”, she was cast opposite to Akshay Kumar in Namaste London. Her other notable films include New York, Rajneeti, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Ek Tha Tiger.
